Wire Making & Cabling Machines

Wire A cylindrical arrangement of flexible strands of the rod of metals is called wire. Sometimes more than one metal strands are used. They are bundled together into a single arrangement. A multi-stranded wire is termed as cables in electricity. Wires are meant to carry mechanical loads of telecommunications signal and electricity. Wire formations are commonly performed by drawing metals through an opening of a drawing plate.

Wire Drawing Drawing is a process of metalwork, applied in metal, plastics and glasses for different formations. According to the wire drawing machine suppliers, the tensile forces are used for stretching elements into thinner form and required shape. Wire drawing involves drawing the wire of existing form through a die. This results in a reduction of the diameter and increasing in the length of the wire. This process is carried on at room temperature which marks it as a process of cold working. Higher temperatures are used for working with huge wires and rods for decreased force usage.

Cables When more than one wire is bundled in a single jacket, it is termed cable. The main function of a cable is to carry and convey electric current. The compositors of an electric cable have their corresponding connectors. A cable assembly is not only capable of connecting two devices but also multiple devices. For connecting multiple terminals, cable harnesses or cable tree formations of cable assemblies are used.

Cable Construction The process of cable construction is pursued by following different steps. Manufacturers of cable wires needs to start with an array or cabling machines. Copper is the most demanded element used for making cable wires. The purposes of using copper metal are, it is fully recyclable and very much moldable. But the most important reason for using copper is a good conductor of electricity.

Step 1: Extraction Of Metal From Ore Copper ores are present in different regions of the planet, with a special mention in Asia and South America. Miners extract the ore from the Earth. Freshly extracted ores occur in rock form with concentrated minerals and metallic elements. The copper is extracted from the rocks by the process of comminution. Then the leaching method is followed up, where acid and water chemical reaction is used to separate the mineral from the ore.

Step 2: Extrusion An extrusion machine and extrusion dies are required in this process. Big copper bricks, commonly known as ingots, are heated and flexible at first and then forced through these machines and dies. Thus the copper is stretched into wires of long strands. Annealing treatment is done for making the wire malleable. Then the strands of copper are bundled together into cables.

Step 3: Cable Covering Copper cables might be of either solid wires or stranded wires. According to this type, the cables are enclosed in a PVC jacket. PVC jackets are moulded using an extrusion machine and thus does not get melted over the wires.

Step 4: Cord Cutting The next machine in requirement is the cutting machine. After the coating is done, the final step of connecting the connector is done by following the process of injection moulding. This process involves melting the PVC pipe and injecting it into the clip of the connector. Wire making machine suppliers have a wide market base for gadgets that are used in every aspect of life. This makes the use of wires and gadgets in a very wide range.
