Step 1: Extraction Of Metal From Ore
Copper ores are present in different regions of the planet, with a special mention in Asia and South America. Miners extract the ore from the Earth. Freshly extracted ores occur in rock form with concentrated minerals and metallic elements. The copper is extracted from the rocks by the process of comminution. Then the leaching method is followed up, where acid and water chemical reaction is used to separate the mineral from the ore.
Step 2: Extrusion
An extrusion machine and extrusion dies are required in this process. Big copper bricks, commonly known as ingots, are heated and flexible at first and then forced through these machines and dies. Thus the copper is stretched into wires of long strands. Annealing treatment is done for making the wire malleable. Then the strands of copper are bundled together into cables.
Step 3: Cable Covering
Copper cables might be of either solid wires or stranded wires. According to this type, the cables are enclosed in a PVC jacket. PVC jackets are moulded using an extrusion machine and thus does not get melted over the wires.
Step 4: Cord Cutting
The next machine in requirement is the cutting machine. After the coating is done, the final step of connecting the connector is done by following the process of injection moulding. This process involves melting the PVC pipe and injecting it into the clip of the connector.
